This 4-week Hatha yoga beginners course is for anyone wishing to try yoga for the first time and those wishing to connect afresh to their yoga practice.
Covering the fundamentals of proper breathing, safe movement and correct alignment of the body. You will practice many of the most popular yoga postures and understand the benefits they bring.
You will learn the meaning of important yoga terms and the basic philosophy of Hatha yoga. In addition you practice essential relaxation and meditation techniques and various forms of pranayama (breathing). There will be the opportunity to ask lots of questions throughout the four weeks.
On completion of this course you will have the ability to join regular yoga classes with confidence.

Sun Salutations - 3 hour workshop with Jamie

This powerful and energetic practice, also known as Surya Namaskar, consists of a flowing sequence of 12 classical yoga poses. Gracefully linked together and practiced correctly it is one of the best all-in-one sequences that unite body, mind and breath. It works on almost all parts of the body, reducing stiffness and improving overall health.

Learning 'Sun Salutations' is an important step for everyone on their yoga journey. It is long revered tool for personal wellbeing, that once learned, can be used whenever you want in as little as 15 mins. With time and practice it becomes a moving meditation.

In this workshop we will cover the correct anatomical alignment of the 12 poses, and proper breathing technique. You will have ample time to practice these asanas individually, before linking them together with the breath to create the flowing sequence. No previous yoga experience is necessary for this workshop.
